Flyers Need OT Again, Beat ‘Canes 3-2

Shayne Gostisbehere is getting a lot of traction out of his second goal of the 2015-16 season, which came just 24 seconds into overtime Monday night. Not only did the goal (assisted by Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek) lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-2 win over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes, it also put to end a three-game losing streak and kept the Flyers from potentially losing a game they led 2-0 heading into the third period before Carolina netted two unanswered goals (by Victor Rask andBrett Pesce) to tie the game. Brayden Schenn (power play) and Giroux both scored goals in the second period for Philly. Michal Neuvirth made 31 saves on 33 shots in net. For more on this game, click here.

Former Flyer Rod Brind’Amour was inducted into the club’s hall of fame Monday evening as well. Click here for more on that story.
