Union Waives Defender Raymond Lee

Chester, Pa. – Philadelphia Union announced today they have waived defender Raymond Lee. A rookie out of Saint Louis University, Lee was drafted in the fourth round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft with the No. 71 overall pick.

“Ray is still a promising young player with a long career ahead of him,” technical director Chris Albright said. “We thank him for his time and wish him the best of luck.”

Lee made his professional debut as a substitute during a 3-2 loss to Sporting Kansas City on April 5. Lee also made his first start during a friendly against AFC Bournemouth on July 14.

The Philadelphia Union return to action on Saturday, Aug. 29 against New England Revolution. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will be televised on The Comcast Network.
