Soul DL Jennings Named Player of Week

Report From Philadelphia Soul

PHILADELPHIA– Philadelphia Soul DL Teddy Jennings has won the J. Lewis Small Playmaker of the Week Award after his outstanding performance in Week 3 against the Portland Steel.  This is the second weekly award for the Soul in the 2016 Arena Football League season.

“Getting to the quarterback is a priority in this game,” Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said. “Teddy continues to perform week in and week out, and is a critical reason why our defense has been able to be so powerful last season and this start of this season.”

In Sunday’s game against the Steel, Jennings tallied 4.0 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and a blocked PAT.  So far this season, he has recorded 7.5 total tackles, 3.0 sacks, two quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

The Soul will host the Cleveland Gladiators on Saturday, April 23 at the Wells Fargo Center. Kickoff will be at 4 p.m.
