Sixers Beat Detroit, Avoid Losing Streak Record

It’s apparently never too late to salvage the season for the Sixers. For the first time since Jan. 29, Philadelphia saw its basketball team win with a 123-98 route of the Detroit Pistons (26-47) at the Wells Fargo Center. It was the Sixers first win at home since Jan. 15 (18 games, one shy of a record as well). But the big news is that Philly (16-57) avoided setting a new record for NBA single season losing streaks, as that “honor” still goes to Cleveland’s 2010-11 squad.

Michael Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young each scored 21 points for the 76ers.
