Phillies Let Late Lead Slip Away in Loss to Brewers

Philadelphia Phillies ace Cole Hamels once again saw a projected win go by the wayside Tuesday night when the visiting Milwaukee Brewers used a two-run eighth inning to pull off a 4-3 win. The loss went to reliever Ken Giles, who was also charged with a blown save, when an apparent swinging strike three to Aramis Ramirez with two out and two on was waived off after Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz called for a time out during Giles’ delivery. Ruiz had earlier in the game hit a go-ahead home run. For more on this game, click here.
