Phillies Fall to Marlins in 9th Inning

The inconsistency of the Philadelphia Phillies is rearing it’s ugly head as of late. Jerome Williams couldn’t maintain a two-run lead the offense built for him through four innings and the bullpen again couldn’t hold on long enough for the offense to manufacture late runs Friday night in Miami as the Marlins. Chase Utley’s three-run homer in the fourth gave the Phils a 3-1 edge that Williams, who took the no-decision surrendered in the fifth. Ken Giles surrendered a walk to Giancarlo Stanton and a game-winning double to Marcell Ozuna without recording an out in the ninth to take his first loss of the season.
