Numerous Soul Players Named All-Arena

Report From Philadelphia Soul

PHILADELPHIA – The Arena Football League today announced the 2015 All-Arena Offensive Teams.  QB Dan Raudabaugh (6’3, 230, Miami OH), OL Shannon Breen (6’5, 310, West Virginia Wesleyan) and Adam Smith (6’5, 320, Western Kentucky) and K Tommy Frevert (6’0, 200, Northwest Missouri) were awarded to First Team All-Arena this season.  FB Tommy Taggart (6’3, 275, Oklahoma) and WR Marco Thomas (6’0, 195, Western Illinois) were awarded to Second Team All-Arena.

Earlier this week, DB James Romain was awarded to First Team All-Arena Defense and DL Bryan Robinson was awarded to Second-Team, bringing the total up to eight Soul players selected for the All-Arena title this year.

“These are well-deserved awards and I am extremely proud of these guys,” said Soul Head Coach Clint Dolezel. “26 weeks of hard work has really paid off, but the end goal is a championship title, so we still have some work to do.”

In his fourth season with the Soul, Raudabaugh was ranked No. 1 in passing touchdowns (119) and No. 2 in the League in passing yards (4,992).  The Offensive Player of the Year and MVP candidate threw 411-for-620, with only 12 interceptions and had a 66.3% completion percentage this season.  He was awarded Offensive Player of the Game in each home game this season and threw his 500th touchdown in Week 17 against the Jacksonville Sharks.

Shannon Breen and Adam Smith have been members of a dynamic offensive line that have allowed only 10 sacks on the quarterback, second best in the League.  The Soul also rank No. 2 in total offense (5,397) and Smith currently holds the franchise record in touchdowns by a tight end (9).

In his first season with the team, Frevert has made great improvements to the Soul’s special teams. The Kicker of the Year candidate has led the League all season in PATs (124-of-137) and onside kicks (7) and is No. 2 in onside kick percentage (30.4%).

Taggart has been a great addition to the Soul offensive line.  The fullback ranked No. 2 all season in rushing yards (301) and rush attempts (103).  He also recorded 16 touchdowns on the 2015 season.

The Receiver of the Year candidate has been a strong target for Raudabaugh all season.  Thomas ranked No. 2 in receptions (155) and No. 3 in receiving yards (1,772) and was among the top five in receiving touchdowns (40) in the 2015 season.  He was awarded Receiver of the Year for the 2014 season with the IFL Iowa Barnstormers.
