MVP Candidate Donaldson Powers Jays Past Phillies

Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson slugged two home runs Tuesday night to help the visiting Toronto Blue Jays to an 8-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Jeanmar Gomez took the loss in relief of starter Aaron Nola, who battled respectably with the Jays’ high-powered offense by allowing three runs in five innings before Gomez and Elvis Araujo surrendered a combined five runs (four to Gomez) in the sixth inning. Former Phillie Ben Revere made his return to Citizens Bank Park with an 0-for-3 performance, two walks and one run scored. For more on this game, click here.
