Report Provided by Sixers.com

PHILADELPHIA, PA. – The Philadelphia 76ers today announced that Michael Carter-Williams has been named Kia NBA Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March.  Carter-Williams also won the award for January and the combined months of October and November.  He is the first Sixer to be named Rookie of the Month three times.

In 17 games played during the month of March, Carter-Williams averaged 14.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists becoming the first rookie to average at least 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in a single month (minimum 10 games played) since Grant Hill in April of 1995.

Carter-Williams totaled 239 points, 135 rebounds and 104 assists for the month.  He joins Joakim Noah (who also posted the following numbers in March) as the first players not named LeBron James to record 200+ points, 100+ rebounds and 100+ assists in a single month since Jason Kidd in January of 2007.  Carter-Williams’ 135 rebounds in March were the most by a guard in a single month since Bobby Sura had 142 in March of 2004.

Carter-Williams, who was the 11th overall pick by Philadelphia in the 2013 NBA Draft, leads all rookies in scoring (16.5 ppg), rebounding (6.1 rpg), assists (6.3 apg) and steals (1.97 spg).  He is looking to become just the third player dating back to 1950-51 to lead rookies in points per game, rebounds per game and assists per game, joining Oscar Robertson (1960-61) and Alvan Adams (1975-76).

Robertson and Magic Johnson (1979-80) were the only players to average at least 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in their rookie season.
