‘Ghost’ Lifts Flyers Over ‘Canes in OT

Shayne Gostisbehere netted another overtime goal Wednesday night, this time lifting the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes. The goal was Gostisbehere’s sixth of the season and third in overtime, tying him with Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames for the NHL lead. He’s also the first rookie to have three overtime goals in a season since Andrew Cogliano in 2007-08, taccording to he Elias Sports Bureau. Jakub Voracek assisted the score and also netted his second goal of the season in the second period to tie the score at 1-1. Brayden Schenn and Sean Couturier also tallied scores in support of goalie Michal Neuvirth, who stopped 29 of 32 shots he faced in net. For more on this game, click here.
