Flyers Use Big 3rd Period to Rally Past Devils, 6-3

With the score tied 2-2 roughly halfway through the third period, the Philadelphia Flyers turned it up a few notches. Wayne Simmonds, Nick Cousins, Jakub Voracek and Ryan White (empty net) all registered goals in the last 10-plus minutes of play to turn a once-tight game into a 6-3 blowout of the host New Jersey devils on Tuesday night. Shayne Gostisbehere’s 11th goal of the season at 17:23 of the first period tied the game at 1-1 and Brayden Schenn netted a power play goal at 7:55 of the second – giving the Flyers six goals from six different players. Michal Neuvirth had 21 saves on 24 shots in net. With the win, Philadelphia sits four points behind Pittsburgh for the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. The Devils currently hold the first spot. For more on this game, click here.
