Flyers Push Win Streak to 4 With Overtime Win Over Devils

Matt Read’s fourth goal of the season at 3:24 of overtime lifted the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the host New Jersey Devils. The win marked the fourth in succession for Philly. Wayne Simmonds tied the game at 1-1 with his seventh goal of the season at 9:56 of the first period and Claude Giroux netted his ninth score of the season at 7:12 of the second to give Philly a 2-1 lead in what would become a back-and-forth contest in the third. Pierre-Edouard Bellemare’s second goal on the season came between two New Jersey scores to keep things tied at the end of regularion. Michal Neuvirth stopped 15 of 18 shots in net.
