Flyers Let One Slip Away in 3-2 Shootout Loss to Blue Jackets

The Philadelphia Flyers couldn’t protect a 2-0 lead on Tuesday night during a 3-2 loss against the host Columbus Blue Jackets. Columbus erased the two-goal deficit in the third period with two scores (one short-handed) on Steve Mason, who was peppered with 53 shots on the evening. Claude Giroux netted his 20th goal in the first period and Ryan White’s power play goal at 11:54 of the third seemed to be enough momentum on the road, but the Blue Jackets would rally for two scores with just 1:04 to play before winning in the shootout round. The standings point did however get Philly into a tie with Detroit for the East’s second wild card. For more on this game, click here.
