Flyers Announce Training Camp Schedule

The Philadelphia Flyers will open their 2014 training camp on Friday, September 19 with on-ice sessions at Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

The 2014 training camp will begin with three straight days of on-ice sessions that are free and open to the public.  The Flyers will be on the ice for sessions at 10:15 AM and 12:15 PM on September 19, 20 and 21.

Flyers fans of all ages will receive a 2014-15 schedule pop out card complete with key ring schedules and a Flyers luggage tag upon entry at Flyers Skate Zone on those first three days of training camp.  In addition, fans can put their hockey skills to the test – both on the street and on the big screen – by participating in a number of street hockey challenges, or by playing EA Sports NHL 15 on a 16-foot outdoor screen. A variety of Flyers themed prizes will be awarded. Fan attractions will be open for the duration of each practice session.

The Flyers will begin their preseason game schedule on Monday, September 22 with a split-squad set of games.  Half the team will serve as host to the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Global Spectrum-managed Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario, while the other half of the roster takes on Washington at the Wells Fargo Center.  Both games start at 7 PM.

The Flyers will play another game north of the border on Tuesday, September 23 against Toronto at Air Canada Centre.  From there, the team reconnects for a home game vs. New Jersey on September 25 at the Wells Fargo Center.

The Flyers will play three games in three nights from Sept. 28-30, vising New Jersey and the NY Rangers before returning home to host the Rangers on Tuesday the 30th.  The preseason schedule will conclude with a visit to the Washington Capitals on Thursday, October 2.

Four of the Flyers’ preseason games will be televised – Sept. 22 vs. Washington, Sept. 25 vs. New Jersey and Sept. 30 vs. the Rangers will all be on The Comcast Network, while the Oct. 2 game at Washington will be on Comcast SportsNet.  The Flyers will also have radio broadcasts of their entire preseason schedule on 97.5 The Fanatic.  On September 22, Tim Saunders and Steve Coates will have the call of the game in London while studio host Jason Myrtetus provides updates on the game in Philadelphia.  All preseason games will begin at 7 PM.
