Breaking Down the Sixers 2014-15 Schedule

Between October 28 and April 15, 1,230 NBA games will be played, an average of just under 7.3 per day. During those six months, millions of fans will pack arenas throughout North America and hundreds of millions more will watch on television sets in hundreds of countries around the globe.

Taking a look at the schedule on a more micro level, here are some items of note regarding the Sixers’ 2014-15 campaign:

• The Sixers open the season with two games on the road, but will play 14 of their first 25 at home from November 1 through December 19. During that stretch, the team will have two four-game home stands.

• After December 19, the Sixers will play 16 of their next 26 on the road (from December 21 through February 6), including a season-long seven-game trip over the Christmas and New Years holidays as part of the team’s annual Disney on Ice road trip. Sixers

• Between February 7 and March 20, 12 of the Sixers’ 18 games will come at home, and eight of the team’s final 13 games will be played on the road (from March 22 through April 15).

• The Sixers have 21 sets of back-to-backs this season, 15 of which will come in 2015. Seven of those back-to-back sets will be played between January 9 and February 7. The team will play a total of 18 games over that 30-day span. The Sixers have just three sets of back-to-back games over the final 31 days of the season.
