Soul to Play LA Kiss in Trenton, NJ

Report From Philadelphia Soul
TRENTON, NJ– With the Wells Fargo Center undergoing renovations for the Democratic National Convention, the Philadelphia Soul will host their Saturday, June 11th game at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, NJ. Kickoff for the game is set for 3pm.

The Philadelphia Soul, Philly’s winningest professional sports team since their inaugural year in 2004, will host the LA KISS, which is owned by rock legends Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. The Soul ownership group is highlighted by NFL stars Ron Jaworski, Dick Vermeil, Marques Colston and Jahri Evans. This matchup of high profile ownership groups is the driving force behind the Rock vs. Jocks branding.

“The Sun National Bank Center is a more intimate venue than our regular home at the Wells Fargo Center and I can’t wait to see how loud we can get it in there,” said Soul owner Ron Jaworski. “As for as the LA team, we plan to show them why we are the ‘jocks’ that know how to win football games, but to be nice, we will keep any of their fans in attendance entertained by playing their music.”

“We are heading into our third season as owners of an AFL team and have yet to have had the opportunity to play the Philadelphia Soul on their turf,” said KISS owner Paul Stanley. “We have our first crack at them this season in LA in April, so we are looking forward to completing the ‘sweep’ in Trenton on June 11th. We know KISS Army will be out in full force supporting our guys to victory.”

The Soul have won four division championships, three conference championships and one ArenaBowl Championship in their ten seasons in the AFL and have the highest winning percentage of any professional sports team in Philadelphia. The KISS have had a slow start in their first two seasons, but have had a great offseason and are expected to contend for an ArenaBowl Championship this season with their current roster they’ve assembled.

“In addition to providing fans with the Rock vs. Jocks game featuring two high profile teams, this is a phenomenal opportunity to showcase Mercer County and the arena to the Philadelphia Soul fan base. The Arena Football League offers top-notch athletes and a non-stop entertainment experience, making this a must-see event for families and sports fans alike,” added Claudio Oliveira, Spectra’s General Manager at Sun National Bank Center.

Tickets start at $15 and can be purchased starting Wednesday, February 3rd at 10am by going to sunnationalbankcenter.com.
