Phillies Thump Marlins Behind Eickhoff in Debut

Jerad Eickhoff, one of the prospects acquired by the Phillies in their trade of Cole Hamels, became the first player in the deal to appear in a Philadelphia uniform Friday night in Florida and didn’t disappoint those friends, family and fans who turned out for his Major League debut. The 25-year-old threw six scoreless innings while striking out five and walking one during the Phillies 7-1 win. Ryan Howard paced the offense with a 3-for-5 performance (all doubles), two RBI and a run. Odubel Herrera scored three times and had a pair of hits. For more on this game, click here.
