Maclin Named NFC Offensive Player of Week

Report From Philadelphia Eagles

For the first time in his career, Jeremy Maclin has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. Maclin’s six catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns were a huge reason for the Eagles’ 31-21 victory over the Houston Texans last Sunday.

Maclin had two catches of over 50 yards (one for a touchdown) and he caught the important 8-yard toss fromMark Sanchez late in the fourth quarter for the game’s final touchdown.

The award for Maclin comes one week after he set a career high with 187 receiving yards in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals, during which Maclin had 12 catches and two touchdowns.

Last week, Maclin was also named the recipient of the Eagles’ Ed Block Courage Award.

For the 26-year-old, 2014 has been quite the season. One year removed from the torn ACL that ended his 2013 season during Training Camp, Maclin has reemerged as a No. 1 receiver with 45 catches for 790 yards (fifth in the NFL) and eight touchdowns (fourth in the league) through eight games.
