Flyers Force Game 5 With 2-1 Win Over Washington

The Philadelphia Flyers avoided a sweep in their opening round Stanley Cup playoff series with the Washington Capitals by taking Game 4 Wednesday night in Philly, 2-1. Shayne Gostisbehere netted his first playoff goal at 5:51 of the first period to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead they’d never lose. Andrew MacDonald widened the margin to 2-0 with his first score of the series at the 3:51 mark of the second in support of Michal Neuvirth, who stopped 31 of 32 shots he faced in his first start in net of the series. T.J. Oshie tallied a goal for the Caps at 2:38 of the third to keep things interesting. Game 5 will be Friday in D.C. Should the Flyers force a Game 6, that will take place Sunday in Philadelphia.
