Robinson, Kizer Named to All-Arena Team

The Arena Football League announced the defensive players named to the 2013 All-Arena team.  Philadelphia Soul DE Bryan Robinson (6’3, 285, Wesley) was named to the First Team All-Arena and DB Rayshaun Kizer (5’10, 190, Walsh) was named to the Second Team All-Arena squad.

“Bryan and Rayshaun are both well deserving of these honors,” said Soul head coach Clint Dolezel.  “Both are key pieces to our defensive success this season and are outstanding representatives of our defensive unit as a whole.  Both of these guys would be first to tell you that they are happy with getting the recognition, but would trade it for a championship.”

The Riddell Defensive Player and Lineman of the Year candidate, Robinson has been a force in the backfield, ranking No. 2 in the League for tackles for loss (17.5) and No. 5 for sacks (11.0).  Robinson also has six blocked kicks this season to go along with his 41.5 tackles.  Robinson broke his own franchise record of most sacks in a season (11.0) and set the franchise record with most sacks in a career at 21.0 sacks. His 18 career blocked kicks is the all-time record in the AFL.
At the end of the regular season, Kizer has played every game so far and leads the team in interceptions (9) and tackles (82.0).  Kizer also has a team-high 25 pass breakups.  He earned seven of his interceptions since Week 11 of the season.  Kizer became No. 3 in franchise history for most interceptions in a career (20).  Kizer has six interceptions in the past six games and is No. 3 in the League in passes defended (34).  In Week 16, Kizer won the AFL’s Week 16 MVP of the Week.
