DeSean and Snoop’s Rap Video

By Mike Greger

DeSean Jackson went back in the studio with his uncle Snoop Dogg Lion — hey, Jackson told me years ago that Snoop calls him “Little Nephew” — to record a new hip hop track.

The song is entitled “Diamonds On My Neck” and features Jackson, Snoop and Yung Chris. The setting is the Las Vegas Strip and shows the trio cruising in fancy cars, making it rain and partying with hot women. All the basic staples of a successful rap video.

As the resident Hip Hop Jabroni, I can’t say DeSean’s verse isn’t anything that 106 & Park will be playing in the near future, although he does call himself an ice cold gold receiver However, the video production is surprisingly good and the beat is pleasantly addictive. Guessing we can credit The Doggfather for that.

This isn’t Jackson’s first crack at rapping — and it certainly won’t be his last. If nothing else, the video lends credence to the rumor that Jackson wants to hire Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Sports to represent him.

All in all, we’re going to admit we kind of like it. You be the judge.
