Phillies Remain Winless on Road After Loss to Nats

Cole Hamels surrendered two more home runs Thursday night and raised his season ERA to 5.00 as the Phillies dropped their fifth consecutive game, falling in Washington DC 5-2 to the formally last place Nationals. The Phillies managed just five hits in the contest, but held a 2-1 lead in the fourth before the Nats tied it up in the frame and went ahead for good when Hamels allowed a solo shot to Michael Taylor in the fifth. It was Taylor’s second homer of the season, both of which have come against the Phils. Hamels took the loss, falling to 1-2. For more on this game, click here.
