Phillies ‘Leg Out’ Win in Washington

The Phillies finally earned their first road win of the 2015 season Saturday afternoon with a 5-3 win over the Nationals. Ben Revere scored the go-ahead run in the seventh inning when he scored from third on a fielder’s choice by Grady Sizemore. Revere entered the game in the seventh as a pinch runner for Ryan Howard, whod led off the inning with a walk. Revere than promptly stole second, advanced to third on a line out to right by Cameron Rupp and then scored when Sizemore grounded to first baseman Ryan Zimmerman, who’s throw wasn’t quick enough to catch Revere at the plate. Aaron Harang (2-1) earned the win and continued his impressive introduction as a Phillie by going six innings and allowing three earned runs while striking out six and walking two.
