Phillies Claim RP Mariot from Royals, Sign RP Burke

The Phillies announced on Monday that they’ve claimed relief pitcher Michael Mariot off waivers from the Kansas City Royals. Mariot, 27, was selected by the Royals in the eighth round of the 2010 Draft. He posted a 6.11 ERA in 19 games during the past two seasons in Kansas City – logging just three innings in the Majors in 2015. Last week the team also announced that it signed local product Greg Burke, another reliever.
