Report From Philadelphia Union

CHESTER, Pa. – Philadelphia Union today announced that two players have received international call-ups from their respective federations to participate in upcoming international matches: Andre Blake (Jamaica) and Haris Medunjanin (Bosnia and Herzegovina). The pair joins Alejandro Bedoya (USA) as Union players to receive international call-ups during the upcoming FIFA window.

Blake joins the Reggae Boyz in advance of a friendly against Peru, set to take place in Lima on June 13. The Union goalkeeper regularly features as the first choice in net for Jamaica, as Blake has earned 23 caps for the side. He was Jamaica’s starting goalkeeper for both the 2014 Caribbean Cup as well as the 2016 Copa America Centenario.

Jamaica is set to participate in both the 2017 Caribbean Cup as well as the 2017 Gold Cup later this summer. Blake’s last appearance for the team came during an international friendly against the USA on February 4, 2017, where he started the match and provided 45 shutout minutes in goal.

Medunjanin has been called in by Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time since joining the Union, and is set to meet the squad ahead of a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification contest against Greece. That match takes place on June 9 from Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Medunjanin has earned 54 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina over his career, including appearances in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He last appeared for the side on October 10, 2016, in FIFA World Cup qualification against Cyprus.

The Union next play on Wednesday, June 14 when they enter the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in the Fourth Round against the Harrisburg City Islanders at Talen Energy Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET).
