Flyers Sign Manning to Multiyear Deal

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have agreed to a multi-year contract with defenseman Brandon Manning, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

Manning, 26 (6/4/90), completed his first full season in the NHL with the Flyers, recording seven points (1g-6a) in 56 regular season games which included his first NHL goal, the game-winning-goal vs. Islanders on Mar. 21. He added one assist in six Stanley Cup Playoff games in the club’s First Round series against the Washington Capitals.

Over parts of four seasons in the NHL, all with the Flyers, Manning has 12 points (1g-11a) in 77 career games. He has also spent four seasons with the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Phantoms, recording 114 points (31g-83a) in 244 games.

He was originally signed by the Flyers as a free agent on November 23, 2010 and spent four years with the Chilliwack Bruins of the Western Hockey League (2007-2011).
