Eagles End 2016 Season With Win Over Cowboys on New Year’s Day

At the very least, the Philadelphia Eagles can say they ended the 2016 season on as positive a note as you can when not making the playoffs. Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz put a nice bookend on hist first-year performance by completing 27 of 43 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Birds to a 27-13 win over the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. Tight end Zach Ertz caught 13 passes for 139 yards and two scores. Former Eagle QB Mark Sanchez made an appearance, along with Tony Romo, and threw two interceptions for a Cowboy team that came into the game having already clinched home-field advantage in the NFC.
