Eagles Claim 1st Place With 27-7 Win Over Giants

It wasn’t the flashiest of offensive performances for the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field, but the defense more than carried its weight during a 27-7 win over the visiting New York Giants. With the win, the Eagles claimed possession of first place in the NFC East. The Giants got out to an early 7-0 lead as Eli Manning marched his offense down the field for a game-opening touchdown drive. But an interception by DeMeco Ryans with 5:18 to play in the first quarter after the Eagles’ offense produced an uninspiring three-and-out quickly turned the tables and put the game in Philly’s favor.

Sam Bradford (24-of-38, 280 yards, one touchdown, one interception) engineered a seven-play,78-yard drive following the pick to tie the game. Philadelphia never looked back. A pick-six by Nolan Carrol gave the Birds a second-quarter lead they would not relinquish. The D would also generate three sacks and hold the Giants scoreless the rest of the way. DeMarco Murray had another impressive showing with 109 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. For more on this game, click here.
