Eagles Can See Path to the Playoffs After 23-20 Win Over Bills

The Philadelphia Eagles picked up just their second string of consecutive wins on the season Sunday afternoon with a 23-20 win over the visiting Buffalo Bills. Sam Bradford and the defense made just enough plays to thwart LeSean McCoy and his new squad during his first homecoming since being traded from Philly. Bradford completed 23 of 38 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown on a 53-yard pass to rookie wide receiver Nelson Agholor (as well as one interception on a ball that was ripped away from the hands of tight end Zach Ertz by strong safety Leodis McKelvin). Ertz led the Birds in receiving with five catches for 98 yards while Darren Sproles led the way on the ground with 41 yards on seven carriers, including a one-yard score to put the Birds up 6-0 in the first quarter. Philly would never trail in the game and would go on to “limit” McCoy to 74 yards rushing and 35 receiving without finding the endzone. With the win, the Eagles control their own destiny in their bid to reach the playoffs, regardless of what happens against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday night. Wins over Washington and the New York Giants to close out the season would afford Philly appropriate tiebreakers against both clubs. For more on this game, click here.
